Host: What is the treatment for a post partum depression?
Dr. Ann Kellams: Generally, the first thing to do is to call the mother's doctor, the obstetrician and it can be treated with medications, the same medications that you would use to treat any major depression and sometimes, counseling and sometimes just providing the mom with more support or more help during that period of time.
