Host: What can women do to optimize their odds of getting pregnant past a certain age? Dr. John Schmitt: Well, then the things I have already mentioned, I think having a -- if they don't achieve pregnancy in six months certainly, by a year then they really ought to seek some professional help because if things are not right they don't have a lot of time to maximize their chances of getting pregnant, but again timing, being healthy all of that is very important to optimize in regardless of the age and the older they get the more crucial that is.Using ovulation predictor kits in that population may help with timing and make it a little bit more predictable, but again, if they don't achieve pregnancy in six to twelve months then I think they ought to at least consult with their Physician about where to go from there.
