Host: What questions should a woman in her second trimester ask her doctor? Dr. John Schmitt: Well, I think commonly it's a continuum from the first trimester. They are asking about aches and pains, what is normal, what's not normal, comfort measures, discussing common discomforts of pregnancy like back pain, muscle aches and pains, starting to have leg swelling then what is normal, what is not normal, what testing is yet to be done, getting the ultrasounds things like that. They start to ask about delivery, taking classes things like that what's available. They also start to explore breastfeeding and really start to get specific about discussing the aspects of that and we are really trying to encourage breastfeeding so that is an ongoing discussion throughout pregnancy.
