Host: How often should a woman in her third trimester see her doctor?

Dr. John Schmitt: Well usually with 20 and around 28 to 36 weeks we see them every two weeks and then once they get to 36 weeks we start seeing them weekly. Obviously, if they are having problems, if they have any medical illnesses again, such as diabetes and hypertension or if they are having premature contractions, any problem that ordinary necessitates visits as needed and so anytime they need to be seen we see them. From 36 weeks or in that last month we like to see people every week.
