Host: If someone isn't offered health benefits at work, is there anything they can do about it?

Bob Hurley: Today, over 50% of small businesses do not offer health insurance benefits to their employees so if you are one of those employees that's not getting covered by your employer, you are not alone by any means. It's happening to a significant number of employees today. The good news is you are not out of luck. You don't have without health insurance. In fact, I will encourage you not to go without a health insurance. Many of these employees now are going out and shopping for a health insurance on their own. They are buying their own plan for themselves and if they are married or have a family they are buying coverage for their spouse and their children as well.

So the good news is there is a product available, the internet is a great place to go to shop for. You can go out, put your zip code in, your birth date and immediately, you are going to see all of the different health plans that are available in your specific area and you can then start the process of comparing and choosing and evaluating the prices and so on. So don't go without health insurance simply because your employer is not covering you. Go out, it can be affordable, it is available, sign up for a plan and the power of getting your own plan frankly, is you are now on the driver's seat and then when you go to work you don't have to worry about health insurance from your employer ever again.
