Dan Leonard: Hi! I'm Dan Leonard and I'm going to be talking about seventh chord arpeggios in this clip.
Were going to start with the Major Seventh Arpeggio. Now, these arpeggios can also be based around the five chord forms that I mentioned with regard to scales. So based around this E chord form the major seventh arpeggio for G is fingered like this.
Now, I'll mention at this point that it's -- first of all, good to be aware of what the root, the third, the fifth, the seventh, root, third, fifth, seventh, where the location of those particular chord tones are in the arpeggio and also to know the names of the notes which obviously Ill change from root to root.
In this case, you have a G B D F sharp and then I repeat G B D F sharp. Its very important to know the notes and all the arpeggios and scales and chords for that matter that you play, theyll give you a much better awareness of what youre doing and how things fit together in terms of improvising jazz.
