Jason: Hi! My name is Jason, I am a mechanic for Revolution Cycles.

Right now, I am going to briefly go over what is entailed in an on the road or on the trail maintenance kit for your bicycle.

We want to start with the pack itself that sits right under the saddle of the bicycle, strapped on to the rails of the saddle itself and the seat post. They vary in size, it basically allows you to carry all the equipment I am going to go over in one second. Some of them are different features, straps, different pockets, reflective piping, vary in price from anywhere from $20 to about $50 depending on size of the pack. What you want to keep in the pack is first an extra tube or may be two extra tubes, a patch kit with various size patches, all the necessary parts in there.

The tire levers of choice and then a pump of some sort. Two different pumps that we have here, this particular pump is a CO2 cartridge pump. This uses a CO2 cartridge to inflate the tube, relatively quickly, easily, small and compact, so you can store it in your bag or store it somewhere on the bicycle.

Second type is a manual mini pump. This is adaptable to both valves incidentally, locking feature. This can either be mounted on to the bicycle usually under the bottle cage, or you can also store it in one of packs that youll have on your saddle on your bicycle itself.

Another important item for your traveling pack is a gauge to make sure you are putting enough pressure in your tire. Most floor pumps will have a gauge on them, but obviously, you are not going to bring your floor pump on the road with you and incidentally most of the mini pumps do not come with any kind of gauge. So, you either need to know by feel, how much pressure you are putting in your tube or have an alternative gauge, like the one you see here, this one is small and convenient, can fit inside the pack, nice and easy. So, that might be one, an item that you keep with your travel pack as well.

The price range for these materials is right around $50, you can expect to pay right around $50, you can buy the items individually, or in some cases, they are available in a pack where it comes with everything you see here, for again right around $50. All these items that you see here can be purchased at your local bike shop.
