Laura Rheinauer: Well, that acronym SAT can send fear and dread amongst parents and students alike and pet running for the doors. But a lot of people don't even know what it actually stands for. It used to be the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Then it got changed to the Scholastic Assessment Test, now it's just flat out called SAT reasoning test. The SAT is a standardized test that's mostly administered to students that are Junior Year or Senior Year and it's to measure the critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills that you will need in college. It's a required piece for most college applications but it's really important to let folks know that the SAT is just one component of that application puzzle.
