Sasha Correia: Hi, I am Sasha Correia and I have been a cheerleading coach for over ten years and I am teaching you how to be a cheerleader. Right now, we are going to kind of walk through a tryout and I will give you some tryout tips and then we will go over some ideas on how to impress the judges. So, first of all for your tryout especially if have never done it before what you want to know is usually you can rally in whats called rallying in and I will show you how to do that when you rally in you are going to go and if there is a mark you want to make sure to stand on your mark. So you are going to start off. When you come in you rally in, Alright, let's go Eagles, here we go. Alright, let's go. Something like that and then you are going to stand nice and straight and be ready to do your cheer. So then they are going to ask you to do your cheer and remember you can call Steady and then go ahead and just go and do your cheer. Make sure you have really nice and tight sharp motions then as you do your cheer you can go ahead and rally again. Alright, go Eagles, here we go, alright, and then after that they might ask you to do your jump. You can go ahead and count your jumps out five, six, seven, eight, one, two and go ahead and do your jump and then when you end nice and clean and again stand nice and tight in between what you are doing.

Once you have done all that you want to make sure to go back to your mark and go back to where you started from and wait for the judges to dismiss you and then you can go ahead and rally out, Alright, Eagles, here we go. Something like that and then you can go off. So now let's just go over a few things on how to impress the judges. You really want to make sure that your appearance is good. You want to have to be wearing fitted clothes that you can really move in and you want to have supportive athletic shoes and also have your hair out of your face and look nice and tight and clean.

Another thing is you want to have good posture. So whenever you are standing there and you are not doing a cheer or a dance or jump you really want to be nice and tight in between your skill. Another thing is you want to make sure that you are looking at the judges. Look at them the whole time if you can and also remember to smile. Keep your smile at the whole time thats really important. Also, if you mess up make sure that you go on and you do your best to try to pick it back up because that really shows that you have a good attitude and you are motivated and excited to cheer. So thats also important. Anyway, I want to wish you luck with cheerleading and any tryouts that you have. I hope this video is helpful to you and keep on cheering.
