    Franklin Taggart is a guitarist, singer/songwriter, recording engineer and record producer based in Silver Spring, MD. He has been nominated for many WAMMIE awards from the Washington Area Music Association, winning the Traditional Folk Instrumentalist category in 2001. His first CD Falling All the Way has received excellent reviews from a variety of sources and was also nominated for seven WAMMIE's.

    Hi! I am Franklin Taggart. I am a guitar player and a guitar teacher. Today I would like to show you a short and simple turnaround that you can use at the end of a 12-bar blues in the key of A on the guitar. The turnaround takes you from the end of the song back to the beginning again. You have all learned the A7 chord by now and what you do for the turnaround as you slide the A7 finger in from the second fret all the way to the fifth fret. What you are going to be doing is picking individual strings from this chord now. You are going to pick the fourth string, second string and then the fourth string. Then slide to the forth fret and pick again. Fourth string, second string, fourth string, slide to the third fret, fourth string, second string, fourth string, slide to the second fret and strum the bottom five strings. Now, for the rest of the turnaround, you are going to be picking the fourth string open, first fret, second fret and then you are going to pick the sixth string, and that's how you play this short and simple turn around. I am going to demonstrate you in this song now, and that's how you play a blues turnaround in a key of A on the guitar.
