Host: Should a third party be telling me whether I should get married?

Rev. Bill Cochran: My answer to that is definitely not. Over the years I have never ever told a couple they shouldn't get married. There are times I wish I had have told them that but that's not my place, that's not a counselor place to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. I do believe however, good counselor will help you to face the issues that are very very prevalent in your relationship and will show you how serious they are. He will put them in front of your face and then maybe ask you an important question like now do you still want to get married? That's your decision to make. Whether you want to get married facing those situations. Then of course, you hope that your counselor is going to help you to deal with those situations and they could find some skills that will help you to get beyond that.
