Host: Should I meet the officiant before choosing one?

Bill Cochran: As much as possible, yes. Most wedding officiants will offer a free introductory meeting to you. It helps them get to know you, but it will also gives them exposure so that you can get to know them and decide if this really is going to fit the tone that you are looking for, for your wedding. Do you feel compatibility, you and your fiance feel a compatibility with that officiant? Is this person going to provide the kind of ceremony that you are looking for? So I would say it's very important.
