Host: What should I bring to the first meeting with my wedding officiant?

Bill Cochran: I would say an open mind, an eagerness to explore as much as you can of the officiant's background. But as far as paper work, most officiants don't require any paper work at that first meeting. I would expect an officiant to offer you a contract and to go over the contract with you and if you feel that you may want to sign the contract at that point then bring your checkbook of course. But most officiants will offer you the convenience of going away and the two of you talking about that person and making a decision in.

Sometimes you want to interview several and so you want to do some comparison and so when you come for that interview, just come relaxed. The officiant realizes that you haven't done this too many times. But be assured that the officiant has done it a lot and those are kind of questions to ask and really, feels very comfortable in meeting with people that they have never met with before and leading them through the process of understanding how they put a wedding ceremony together.
