Host: Who is responsible to see that the marriage license gets back to the courthouse?

Rev Bill Cochran: That is the sole responsibility of you wedding officiant. Most marriage licenses will say on them. It's the officiant's responsibility and if he or she doesn't get it back within five days there is $50 fine. None of us want to pay that fine. I have a practice of stopping by the post office on my way home from weddings and dropping it in the mail that very night, so it doesn't get lost in clutter of things on my desk. You want to make sure that your wedding officiant is going to take care of that properly.
