Host: Is there any part of the marriage license left with us after the wedding?

Rev. Bill Cochran: Yes. Generally the cover of the Marriage Certificate is a nicer looking certificate, the one that you could put in your scrap book or maybe frame and hang on the wall, but it yours to look at and to keep. It is not the official copy, though it's signed by the officiant. The official copy is the copy that goes back to the courthouse and is recorded in the books in that courthouse.
