Mark began his career in Emergency Services while he was in the U.S. Army. From 1984-1987 and from 1990-1992 he was stationed at the United States Army Europe Command Center EOC in Heidelberg Germany. He also served in the Tactical Operations Center (TOC) of the 1st Infantry Division Artillery at Fort Riley, Kansas and as Communications Section Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Mark is also a veteran of Desert Storm .

Since moving to Florida in 1993 he has worked with Pasco County Fire Rescue and Spring Hill Fire Rescue before joining Emergency Management in 1999.  He began the CERT Program in 2001, Coordinated development of the Hazmat Team, coordinates emergency training and exercises for EOC Staff, Fire Rescue, Law Enforcement and other County staff. 

Mark is a past president with the Florida CERT Association.

Mark is certified as a Florida Professional Emergency Manager (FPEM).
