Host: How far in advance of the wedding should I hire a florist? Gerry Rogers: There's no hard and fast rule for when you should hire your florist. For peak days you might plan for six to eight months or an year in advance of your wedding date, for example, if your wedding is going to be on a holiday weekend. If your wedding is during a low time period, like winter months, November, December, January and February tend to be non-peak times in the DC area, you might have to be able to get away with hiring a florist with not a lot lead time, so it really depends, but six to eight months is typical.
