Host: How do you prepare for the florist consultation?
Gerry Rogers:So let's assume that you have already scheduled your meeting with your florist and it's coming up, what do you do to get prepared? Well, if you have swatches and pictures of your dress and bridesmaid's dress, that's useful to bring, particularly the swatch of the bridesmaid's dress, as typically that color, unless it's just a very neutral brown or black. We will figure into the color scheme of your flower, the florist needs to know what flowers you are going to coordinate with and match that dress. Flowers don't come in dialog, so you want to have some flexibility there, in terms of, what flowers will go with that swatch.

We will figure into the color scheme of your flower, the florist needs to know what flowers you are going to coordinate with and match that dress. Flowers don't come in dialog, so you want to have some flexibility there, in terms of, what flowers will go with that swatch. You also want to spend some time looking at books and magazines, bring some pictures with you of flowers you like, flowers you dislike.
In addition to magazines there are lots of online resources, that you can find galleries of images of flowers, those are also useful to bring. Anything else that you have made big decisions on, on the style of your wedding, like you have already chosen your invitation, that might be a nice thing to bring. You don't have to have all of these, but anything that will help the florist understand what you are thinking about for your wedding.
