Host: What are the drawbacks of using a flower shop?

Gerry Rogers: A flower shop while they are very well equipped to deal with very simple weddings, they are sometimes not well equipped to deal with very large extravagant event. They may not have the same array of props and specialty products to offer you for your wedding. Some of the hard to get floral supplies such as fiddlehead fern curl, some of the trendier floral items. A flower shop is not generally going to have access to or regularly get in. They may even charge you more for those things. if you need extravagant hoopas, wrought iron stands, candlelobras, things like that are not the kinds of things that a flower shop will have on hand. Also flower shops tend to send delivery people for their weddings, not all, but this is something you should probably ask about and if they are just sending a delivery person to drop off your flowers and you have a last minute need that needs to be fixed, that delivery person is not going to be able to fix that the same way a florist doing the delivery would be able to.
