Joe Wise: Hi, I am Joe Wise, owner of Buildwise Construction, in Orlando, Florida. Now that the area around the sink and countertop are dry, we are going to show you how to caulk. Now see one area. They popped up while we were gone. So I am going to take my razor knife, just hit it up, real quick and get that cleaned up so it will be ready to caulk. This is where your sponges are going to come in. You just want to dampen your sponge, put a little water on it and squeeze it out. You do not want it to be soaking wet, you just want it to be damp. We are going to take of the cap off the caulk. This is -- I always like to use a good grade caulk. Some of the caulks have microband at them and other agents that keep the mold and mildew from coming up in your caulk lines and it is always a good idea to use that for extra perfection. You do not want the mold and mildew spores in your home. So right now, we had cut this previous and we are just going to put a bead right between the sink and the countertop. They are good. You do not need a whole lot. If you put too much, it is actually not a good thing. So what you want to do, alright, we will just go get the back splash here. Even though this has got a piece of vinyl on it, we still want to hit this little area right here where it meets the back splash. Now normally, you can either take your sponge and go around this or you can just take your finger. I have come from the old school, I like the finger method. Get that cleaned up, get all of the excess off of it like that. We will go into the back splash area, see, I have put a little too much caulk on it there and if it just starts to build up on it, you just have to wipe it off. One thing good about using latex caulk is that it cleans up with water, real simply. So you just run a little water on it, get your sponge cleaned up. You probably don't want to use this sink for about a 24 hour period. Give this caulk a good time to set up and dry so it adheres properly. While that caulk is drying, we are going to go out and show you how to caulk around windows.
