Beth Bates: Hi, I am Beth Bates with sewteacher.com and today I am teaching you how to make a lined tablecloth. We have already determined our finished length and our finished width. We have already made our cuts with our lining and our fabric and now in this clip we are going to pinning the lining and the fabric together and sewing it together at the sewing machine.

The first thing we do is you take your decorator fabric and you are going to put the pretty side faced down on the lining. Now if you have joined your lining together make sure that the seam is on the back side, so the pretty side of lining, the pretty side of your face fabric together, in this particular case I have not sewn anything, another piece of lining to the lining. So it looks the same. So we are going to put these edges together, line them up, take our stick pins, pin them together like this. All about every couple inches, 2-3 inches apart and we are going to pin these two making sure we get both the face fabric, the decorator fabric and the lining. Make sure the pin goes through both of them, two or three inches apart and we are going to pin all the way around the square and I am sure you don't have the time to stitch here and watch all of that, so when we come back I will be almost all the way around.

Okay, I have finished pinning together the lining and the face fabric all the way around and I am back to where I started and I have left a space about this big and I am going to leave this space open so that we can turn it inside out, because remember we pinned the pretty sides of the fabric against each other. So we will turn it inside out.
