Steve White: My name is Steve White from MasterCraft Painting here in San Diego and today, we are going to be talking about how to paint your house. One of the most important things is the surface prep and we are going to be showing you some clips very shortly on how to do the several different processes that are involved in the proper painting of your home. Any of these steps can be skipped, but basically, you are going to be -- the coating is going to suffer and the paint wouldn't last as long. So it's important to make sure that all of these steps are followed.

So right now, I just want to touch briefly on some of the tools that you are going to need. The basic tools are scrapers and sanders and different tools that you can find at any home center. Some power sanders that we have that make the job just a little bit faster, but you can do the same thing with your sheets of sandpaper and hand scrapers, a garden hose and high pressure sprayer and maybe a scrub brush and we have got a professional water blaster which you could also rent at your local rental yard. We also have caulking guns and putty knives and paper, tape and plastic for masking up and protecting surfaces that you don't want to paint and brushes and rollers and buckets and grids, different things and we also have -- to make the job a little quicker again, we have a professional paint sprayer. It's a hydraulic sprayer that really didn't take that long to learn how to use. It might be a little bit scary at first, but you can also rent these at your rental yards and again, it makes the job go a lot quicker.
