Amy Stewart: Good afternoon! My name is Amy Stewart, and now we are going to talk about what type of container you may want to use for your herb garden, and well talk about what I am going to use today.

I bought in several different kinds of containers just to give you an idea, and were going to work with a couple of them, but I wanted to just let you see whats available sort of at the home center and certainly there are price points that are different on each one. This is one is actually an antique ceramic one that I am going to be putting our herb garden into today, and that one you can already see Ive got my herbs kind of arranged in.

This one is actually a very heavy metal pot, and were going to do some transplanting into this one, although you could very easily put a couple of herbs in there and grown this on your porch as well. My least favorite choice for container gardening is plastic, and mostly because it gets kind of dingy with time, you can see this one is looking a little bit bad. So, were not going to be using plastic today, and if you choose the pot like this at your home center, just know that a couple of years from now this is what its going to look like, and these are going to stay looking much nicer as time goes on, and that is how to select the container for your home herb garden.
