Host: What can I do to avoid late payments?

Amelia Robinette: Most families have a few hundred, if not several hundred dollars room in their budgets. The first thing you need to do is gather three months of bank statements, credit card statements and all of your expenses. Keep in mind a roof over your head and a home for your family are necessities. Cable is not a necessity, lunches out are not a necessity. Look at all of your expenses and eliminate everything that is not a necessity. It is very difficult, but being homeless is more difficult. So this is something you need to concentrate on. Many people have found adding a second job, having someone in the household get a second job to help with their cash flow and monthly expenses. Many families also have relatives that can move in on a temporary or a permanent basis to help with family obligations, childcare and help reduce the household expenses.
