Host: What is a note modification?

Amelia Robinette: Note modification is when the lender will adjust the terms of your mortgage note, your loan. For example, if you owe 27 years on your mortgage, they may extend that to 30 years or you owe 10 years, they may allow that to extend to a 20 year amortization which would reduce your monthly payment.
