How to Prepare for Triathlon Race Day
Leslie Williams: Hi, I am Leslie Williams triathlete and I have been teaching you how to train for a Triathlon. Now we have gone through everything that we can go through, we have gone through gear, we have gone through nutrition, we have gone through the swim, the bike, the run, transitions and now finally race day is upon us. Now race day is a day when you are very, first one, you are going to be anxious and I know you are not going to listen to me but the best advice I can possibly give you is to forget everything and go out and have fun because that is what you are here to do.

You are here to go out and have fun. I want to make sure that you eat really healthy about three days before race day, you want to start carbo-loading, have some pasta treat yourself to a little extra veggies, little extra fruit, really go for some multi-grain and eat all you want and enjoy. I love peanut butter on peanut bread or whole wheat bread or even some those nicely healthy tortillas you can get. These are really great breakfast on race day as well as bananas. Bananas are wonderful source of potassium and they are really good to have as well. You can always have a bar, a smoothie, anything you want, just make sure that you have had it before and your stomach is used to it. The other thing I want to tell you is that once you finished your first Triathlon you are going to have an amazing sense of accomplishment and I hope that you enjoy that, embrace it have a wonderful time at the race. There is a big expo before hand enjoy the expo, get out there talk to people, learn everything you can and I just want to thank you for watching, I am Leslie. Thanks for trying to learn to become a triathlete, I think you are going to do a great job and I will see you out there at the races.
