Jamie Deaton: Now let's talk about how the Honda CR-V handles cargo. As it turns out, cargo is one of the strong suits of the CR-V. It has plenty of space for all your stuff. Here in the front there's lots of room for small items storage. You get a really deep center console and cup holders; in fact, there are eight cup holders throughout the CR-V. In front of the cup holders, there's a handy space in the floor where you can put your purse. You also get a dual level glovebox which is really nice for carrying some extra things.
Cargo space in the rear of the CR-V is just as impressive as the space in the front. With the back seats up, there's 35.
7 cu-ft. of cargo space, which is really good for the class. There's plenty of room for a big trip to the grocery store and even a trip to Sam's Club or Cosco. There's a lot of room for suitcases, so the CR-V is up for a road trip too. And one interesting thing we found is that we were able to fit this large box in the rear of the CR-V without having to fold the seats down. In most compact SUVs that we test, to get this box in, we have to fold the seats down. So as you can see, there's a lot of space in rear of the CR-V. Another nice feature that you can get with the EX or EX-L models like we have here, is a cargo shelf. It divides the cargo area into two levels, which is really nice for keeping your stuff organized. If there's not enough space for your stuff with the seats in place, you can easily fold the back seats down. Once they're flat, there's 72.
9 cu. ft. of cargo space, which is plenty for all the gear that you may need to haul.
So the bottom line on the cargo space in the CR-V is there is tons of storage space, more than enough for what most families need. If you want to learn more about the CR-V, check out our other videos on its seating, interior features, how it drives, and the other SUVs you'll want to consider.
