Hi, I am Suzanne McCeney, and I am here at ScrapbooksPlus in Chantilly, Virginia, today we are teaching you how to scrapbook. Now I am going to show you how to mat a photograph. When we mat a photograph our focal point picture or the one that holds the most interest on the page is usually double matted. So, I have cut one mat a little bit larger than our photograph, and I have adhered it to another piece of paper, scrap piece of paper, and all I do is eyeball and trim off the excess to have a double mat. Then I will adhere it to my page. My focal point here is my one picture, and I have double matted it. When you are matting photographs, you have to remember that animated objects hold a lot more interest than unanimated objects. So, if you have a page of a lot of people, those are the ones that are going to pop out. So, if you have like a flower, which is unanimated object, you would probably want it a little larger than most photographs, and also double mat it so it will show. Now we are going to teach you how to journal.
