Hi! My name is Martha Hemmingway and I am teaching the basics of clogging. We are going to learn the stomp now. Earlier you learned how to step on your foot. Now, we are going to stomp. Stomp just means to step with a little more ump to it. Basically just putting your foot down hard, flat footed, thats a stomp. Now, thats not very exciting I realize, so lets add it into some actual clogging combinations. The first clogging step I am going to teach you is called the stomp double, and I am going to turn my back to the camera, make it easy to follow. The stomp double starts out with one stomp on the left foot, then do two double steps, and end with a rock step, so that is called a stomp double, one stomp, two double steps, one rock step. Lets try that again.

Starting on the left foot, five, six, seven, eight and stomp, double step, double step, rock step, lets try the right foot, stomp, double step, double step, rock step. Stomp, double step, double step, rock step, stomp, double step, double step, rock step. Whenever I choreograph this in a routine, whenever I put a stomp in, I just kind of want to use on, I just kind of really, really show that we are having fun. After the stomp double, lets learn the triple stomp, kind of the same principle, but a little bit different. On the triple stomp obviously, triple meaning three, we are going to start with three double steps. Left, right, left, double step, double step, double step and then you are going to add two stomps, right left. Stomp, stomp, make sure you make your feet flat and put a lot of weight into it.

Now, we are going to start on our right foot for the triple stomp, and double step, double step, double step, stomp, stomp, double step, double step, double step, stomp, stomp, double step, double step, double step, stomp, stomp, and a one and two and three and four, last time. Okay, so you have learned the stomp, and next I am going to teach you the touch heel. Happy clogging!
