Host: What is the second flirting exercise?
Gloria MacDonald: Now that you have had your week of practicing smiling at strangers and having them smile back, the second exercise is to say something personal to someone new everyday, someone that you don't normally say something personal to. So for example, let's say, everyday when you drive to work, you drive into a garage and there is a parking lot attendant, try instead of saying to the perfunctory, Morning, how are you today? try saying something like, How is your morning going this morning? Are you having a good day? something that is a little more personal, that requires a response and smile when you are saying it. So make contact with that individual as a human being. Again, it is about valuing that human being and showing them that you value them. Flirting is about making them feel good about themselves. So we all just say, Morning. How are you? then everybody says, Fine and you? Go beyond that. Pay attention to that person as an individual. So again, find one person everyday for a week and say something more personal to them in a listed response.
