Host: At what age should a child start potty training?
Rene Hackney: With the potties without pressure method the age range is anywhere from two to four years old. The average age is three years old. With little girls tending to be on the earlier side, two and half to three and little boys tending to be on the later side, three to three and a half, but anywhere, two to four is normal. So, it s really looking for the signs of readiness.
Some kids starts to show those signs as early as two years old, others not till about three and half or four which panics a lot of parents, but the idea is you can t really teach them early. You have to wait until they are ready to go and they recognize that sensation and can be able to talk with you about it.
