Hi, I am Karen Schachter, in this segment I am going to show you how to use games to introduce children to healthy eating. Its a great way to teach children about new or unfamiliar foods. I am going to show you two different games; chopsticks and bingo, but you can use any games you want. The point is just to make it fun. The first game is chopsticks. Children get to choose a set of chopsticks, and I get these fun animal chopsticks at any toy store. The adults are going to use regular chopsticks. Its going to be kids against adults. The point is to pick up as many of these little sponges, and all I did was cut up several sponges. So, the point is to pick up as many of these as possible, and for the kids to beat the adults. The second game is bingo. All I did for this was take some paper and use fruit and vegetable stickers to make bingo cards. I cut up little pieces of paper and put the same stickers on these little pieces of paper. We play bingo just the way you would normally play bingo. I call out the cards and the kids, if they have the fruit or vegetable, put one of these little sponges on that fruit or vegetable.
