Host: What is the tenth commandment of goal setting?

Gary Ryan Blair: The tenth commandment is thou shall enforce personal integrity. In personal integrity, the best way to look at this is, this is honoring your commitments. I have a three step philosophy that I teach to everybody. But before, actually I give you that, I just want to explain this.

Whether it's in sports or any type of sports that I have played in my entire life, whether its football, baseball, basketball, golf.

, the most important part are your kick, your punch, your swing, your throw. It's not where you start, it's where you finish. It's your follow through and unfortunately that's where the vast majority people are weak.

They have good intentions, they have got a lot of lofty goals and ambitions. Got a lot of ideas that they want to implement, but unfortunately, they are very indiscipline when it comes to follow through. The idea of personal integrity when I say there are three steps to it, very simple as this. If you make a commitment, you are honored, if you make a promise, you keep it and if you set a goal, achieve it.

If you look at that, break it down and ask yourself, what's the point in making a commitment, if you don't honor it. You bring shame to yourself and you embarrass yourself in front of other people, especially when you made that commitment publicly.

When you make a promise to yourself or other people and unfortunately the promise that we break the most are the ones that we break to ourselves and we think, no one is going to know or no one will be aware of it, but deep down, in that truth center, we know that we have shamed ourselves.

So, its' important that we have a strong constitution, that if we make commitments, they are honored, if we make promises, we keep them and if we set goals, we achieve them and that really, if you think about it. If you just kept two components or two of these commandments.

You really just need the first and the last one. You need to be decisive, you need to decide with clarity, exactly what it is that you want. With complete certainty and on the other side of the coin, you have got to make sure that you honor that decision. That is probably the most important take away from this whole process.
